James Patterson is UK’s Most Borrowed Author With Over 1.5 Million Library Loans
US writer James Patterson has retained his position as the UK’s most borrowed author for a second year, according to PLR UK, whose figures for 2008 have just been published.
Titles by the prolific US author were lent over 1.5 million times between July 2007 and June 2008. He is one of only four writers to clock up over a million loans in the UK between July 2007 and June 2008.
In the UK, children’s, young adult and educational books represent around 30% of all books borrowed nationally, and the PLR data reflect this, with six children’s writers in the Top 10. Read the UK’s press release
